A busy second day for the Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, on a mission to New York to attend the 81st United Nations General Assembly.
At 9.00 am (3.00 pm Italian time), Minister Tajani will take part in the opening of the United Nations General Assembly, leading the Italian delegation. At the UN, the Minister has scheduled a number of bilateral meetings with foreign counterparts, including the Iranian Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, the President of the Dominican Republic, Luis Rodolfo Abinader, and the Indian Minister of External Affairs, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar.
In the afternoon, Minister Tajani will visit the Italian Consulate-General in New York to meet staff from the Italian consular network in the United States and to visit the exhibition “Enrico Caruso, from Naples to New York” at the Italian Cultural Institute.
Finally, Minister Tajani will also meet with the Italian community living in New York, the largest in the United States with over 110,000 compatriots registered with the consular authorities.
