‘Italy’s international coffee strategy: development, value and partnerships’
(Farnesina, 14 October 2026)
On Wednesday 14 October 2026, the event ‘Italy’s international coffee strategy: development, value and partnerships’ will take place at the Farnesina, dedicated to presenting Italy’s strategy for the coffee sector and to strengthening partnerships with producing countries, international organisations, financial institutions and representatives of the supply chain.
The high-level session, scheduled from 3.00 pm to 4.30 pm, will be opened by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, followed by speeches from, amongst others, the Colombian Minister for Agriculture, Indalecio Dangond, the Executive Director of the International Coffee Organisation, Vanusia Nogueira, the President of the Italian Coffee Committee and the Lavazza Group, Giuseppe Lavazza, the President of Illycaffè, Andrea Illy, the President of the European Coffee Federation, Massimiliano Fabian, and the President of the Union of Italian Association of Espresso Coffee Machines and Bar Equipment Manufacturers, Roberto Nocera, as well as representatives from international organisations.
During the plenary session, the Minister will launch the Global Coffee Initiative, which also involves the creation of the first global public-private fund dedicated to the coffee supply chain, known as the Espresso Fund – an initiative promoted by Italy and the World Bank, confirming the strengthened collaboration between Italy and the World Bank Group in the agri-food sector.

Accredited press will be able to access the Farnesina on the day of the event via the main entrance, left-hand side, and collect their badge between 2 p.m. and 14.45 p.m..
