Minister of Foreign Affairs Antonio Tajani will speak today at 12 noon at the Teatro Comunale Cilea in Reggio Calabria at the Conference of Scientific and Space Attachés and Agricultural Experts.
The conference, which this year focused on the theme ‘From the Lab to the Market: Cutting-edge technologies for Italy’s prosperity’, got underway on 3 November with two days of in-depth discussions, accompanied by visits to sites of industrial excellence in the region. Today’s proceedings focused on cutting-edge technologies, ranging from artificial intelligence to quantum technologies and high-performance computing – strategic sectors for the competitiveness of the Italian manufacturing sector and for future geopolitical balances.
During his speech, Minister Tajani will announce the launch of the first National Strategy for Science Diplomacy, aimed at strengthening the role of science in Italy’s international activities through the definition of strategic objectives and dedicated tools. At the end of the official session, the Minister will sign a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Research Council (Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche, CNR) to promote new initiatives in the field of science diplomacy.
