Di Maio’s message of congratulations to the President-elect of Algeria

“I would like to express my congratulations to the newly elected President of Algeria, Abdelmadjid Tebboune. Italy reaffirms its historical friendship with Algeria through all the strategic bilateral cooperation channels in the realm of politics, business, culture and security to jointly tackle our common challenges in the Mediterranean Basin. We wish him great success in his efforts to meet the expectations of the Algerian people, to whom we confirm our closeness in an important phase of their history,” said Luigi Di Maio, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, following the proclamation by the National Independent Authority for Elections of the provisional results of the presidential elections of 12 December.
