​Press accreditation notice – “Transition towards renewable energies in Africa: what implications?” Conference (Farnesina, 24 October 2018) ​

On Wednesday, 24 October 2018, at 9.00 a.m., the Farnesina will host the conference on “Transition towards renewable energies in Africa: what implications?“.

The event will be introduced by Massimo Gaiani, Director General for Globalization of the MAECI, and will be followed by speeches by Paolo FRANKL, Head of the Renewable Energy Division (International Energy Agency) and Martin SCHÖPE, Head of the Economic Affairs and Energy Division (German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy).

A session dedicated to Renewable energy in Africa will follow with speeches by Amani About-Zeid, Commissioner for Infrastructure and Energy (African Union), Vera Songwe, Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) and Antonio Cammisecra, CEO of Enel Green Power and President of “Res4Med&Africa”.  The session will be followed by the signing of a letter of intent for the “Capacity building programme in renewable energy” between the African Union and Res4Africa and by a press conference by Amani About-Zeid, Vera Songwe and Antonio Cammisecra.  Journalists, photographers and TV crews interested in following the event are requested to apply for accreditation by sending an email to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation’s Institutional Press and Communication Service at the following address: accreditamentostampa@esteri.it (Tel. + 39 06/3691.3432 or 8573 or 8210), attaching there to the letter of his/her media organisation (or press card for freelance reporters) and, for members of the foreign press, a Note Verbale released by the Rome Embassy of the media organisation’s Country.    Accreditation badges must be picked up in person at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, main entrance left-hand side – starting from 8:30 a.m.
