On Monday, 22 October 2018, at 10:00 a.m., Villa Madama will host the 3rd Edition of the Joint Action for the Italian Language in the World.
The event will be entirely open to the press.
The Meeting will open with remarks by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Enzo Moavero Milanesi and by the Minister of Education, University and Research, Marco Bussetti.
The other speakers scheduled to speak at the Opening Session of the Joint Action are the President of the Dante Alighieri Society, Andrea Riccardi, the President of the Accademia della Crusca, Claudio Marazzini, the Ambassador of the Helvetic Confederation to Italy, Giancarlo Kessler and the President of RAI, Marcello Foa. The session will be moderated by the Director General for Economic and Cultural Promotion and Innovation, Vincenzo De Luca.
The event’s agenda will unfold as follows:
11:30 a.m. – First Plenary Session: Italian in the Internet and on Social Media – Round Table
(Moderator: Prof. Giuseppe Patota, Accademia della Crusca);
2:30 p.m. – Second Plenary Session: Italian Language Networks in the World – Round Table
(Moderator: Lorenzo Tavazzi, The European House Ambrosetti)
4:00 p.m. – Closing Plenary Session:
Presentation of the figures on the dissemination of the Italian language in the world and Working Groups Reports;
Closing remarks by the Undersecretary for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Guglielmo Picchi.

Accredited journalists, photographers and TV crews may collect their accreditation badges in person at the rear entrance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation on Via della Macchia della Farnesina (press entrance), from 8:30 to 9:00 a.m.
Villa Madama will be closed to private traffic and therefore a shuttle bus service will take participants from the Farnesina to Villa Madama and return.
