The 2018 OSCE Conference against Terrorism will be held on 10 and 11 May at Rome’s Grand Hotel Parco dei Principi. “The Reverse Flow of Foreign Terrorist Fighters (FTFs): Challenges for the OSCE Area and Beyond”, is promoted by Italy’s 2018 OSCE chairmanship.
Many representatives of Italian and foreign governments will take part, with academics and international experts, a sign of how such projects are shared and supported at international level.
The opening session on 10 May (from 9:00 a.m. to 10:15a.m.) and the closing session on 11 May (from 5:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.), will be open to the press.
The conference will be opened by Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Vincenzo Amendola, and OSCE Secretary General, Thomas Greminger.
The closing session will be held by Director General for Political Affairs and Security for the Farnesina, Alessandro Cortese, and OSCE co-ordinator of Activities to Address Transnational Threats, Rasa Ostrauskaite.
Journalists, photographers and TV crews should apply for accreditation by 6:00 p.m on Tuesday 8 May. They can apply in one of the following ways:
– by filling out the interactive form and selecting the event at http://mae.accreditationsystem.info/ITA/Indice.asp, attaching, unless already provided, the information requested in digital format (letter from the media organisation and, for representatives of foreign media, also a Note Verbale released by the Rome embassy of the media organisation’s country).
– by sending an email to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation’s Institutional Press and Communication Service at: accreditamentostampa@esteri.it, (telephone 06/3691.3432-8573-8210), attaching the letter of their media organisation (or press card for journalists) and, for members of the foreign press, a Note Verbale released by the Rome embassy of the media organisation’s country.
The press entrance to the Congress Centre of the Grand Hotel Parco dei Principi, via G. Frescobaldi, 5, will be open as follows:
– Thursday 10 May, from 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., to cover the opening session;
– Friday 11 May, from 4:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., to cover the closing session.
