PRESS ACCREDITATION NOTICE – 13th Annual Meeting of the Infrastructure Consortium for Africa (ICA) – Farnesina, 20 October 2017

On Friday, 20 October, the Plenary Meeting of the Infrastructure Consortium for Africa (ICA) will be held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. In its role as president of the G7, Italy will co-chair the meeting with the African Development Bank.  The theme of the plenary meeting will be “Toward Smart and Integrated Infrastructure for Africa: An agenda for digitalisation, decarbonisation and mobility”.

The meeting will be opened by the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mario Giro, along with the Vice President of the African Development Bank, Pierre Guislain, after a short keynote address by the Deputy Director General for Development Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Luca Maestripieri. Executive Director of the International Energy Agency, Fatih Birol, will also address the meeting, along with the Commissioner for Energy at the African Union Commission, Amani Abou-Zeid, the Tunisian Minister for Investments and International Cooperation, Zied Ladhari, and the Kenyan Minister for Transport and Infrastructure, James Macharia.

The Infrastructure Consortium for Africa brings countries from the G7, the G20 and International Financial Organizations together, encouraging the funding of infrastructure projects in Africa in order to boost economic growth, which will consequently have significant effects on stability and security and migration.

Journalists, photographers and TV crews who wish to attend the sessions open to the press are requested to apply for accreditation in one of the following ways:

–      by filling out the interactive form and selecting the event at the link http://mae.accreditationsystem.info/ITA/Indice.asp, attaching, unless already provided, the information requested in digital format (letter from the media organisation and, for representatives of foreign media, also a Note Verbale released by the Rome Embassy of the media organisation’s country);  

–   by sending an email to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation’s Institutional Press and Communication Service at: accreditamentostampa@esteri.it  (tel. 06/3691.3432-8573-8210), attaching the letter of their media organisation with personal data (or press card for freelance journalists) and, for members of the foreign press, a Note Verbale released by the Rome Embassy of the media organisation’s country.

Accredited journalists, photographers and TV crews can enter the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation at the main entrance, left-hand side, from 8:30 a.m.
