The 2017 ANCE Report on the presence of Italian construction firms worldwide will be presented at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation on Thursday, 5 October, at 10.30 a.m.
Minister Alfano said: “The 11th report on the presence of Italian construction firms worldwide will be presented at the Farnesina for the 10th year running, clearly demonstrating the successful association built between the Foreign Ministry, ANCE – the National Association of Construction Firms – and the construction and infrastructure industry. The construction sector forms the backbone of economic diplomacy in foreign markets, and the role played by the ministry and diplomatic and consular network has become increasingly important for early identification of opportunities, facilitating the participation of our companies in tenders and protecting their interests if problems arise. An independent survey conducted by consultancy company, Prometeia, clearly demonstrated the significance of our work, as tenders won in 2015 by Italian companies who had received support from the diplomatic and consular network, produced more than 1 per cent of GDP and 234,000 jobs.”
The event, organised with ANCE, will be attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Angelino Alfano, President of ANCE, Giuliano Campana, and the Vice President of ANCE, Giandomenico Ghella.
The Foreign Ministry’s Director General for country promotion, Vincenzo De Luca, will make an opening address, and chair proceedings.
Representatives of the construction business, institutions and members of the foreign diplomatic corps in Italy will also attend.
Presentation of the ANCE Report is an important annual event and stems from the well-established relationship between the Farnesina and the association. The latest information on the presence of Italian construction firms abroad will provide a comprehensive picture of the international competitiveness of the companies and a map of countries offering the best opportunities.
