Undersecretary for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Mario Giro will open the sessions of ASILS 2015 Conference on Thursday 19 February at 10:00. The conference on “The Italian language as an instrument in intercultural dialogue, development and economic growth”, will take place in Rome at the Office for Italy of the European Parliament’s Sala delle Bandiere (Via IV Novembre, 149).
Its purpose is to underscore the importance of the study of the Italian language, as not only an instrument in intercultural dialogue but also an element in facilitating mobility in Italy and stimulating development and economic growth during the debt crisis. These themes were also treated by the Italian Language in the World States General in October 2014, and proposed by ASILS during the Group 5 work-table “Management of and instruments for the promotion of the Italian language”.
