The foreign ministry will host a workshop entitled “Electrical Power and Grids as a Factor in the Sustainable Development and Integration of Latin America” in the International Conference Room at 9:30 on Tuesday 5 November 2013.
The event has been organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in collaboration with the Italo-Latin American Institute (IILA), and will be opened by Under-Secretary for Foreign Affairs Mario Giro, followed by the speeches of IILA Secretary General Amb. Giorgio Malfatti di Monte Tretto and Head of the Renewable Energy Division of the International Energy Agency (IEA) Paolo Frankl.
Attendees will include the representatives of major electrical power grid operators that will include Terna, GSE and Enel. The principal topics on the agenda will be the generation and sources of renewable energy in Latin America and power distribution grids as factors in the development and integration of the region. Also present will be the heads of energy agencies, companies and sector public bodies of Latin American countries such as Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, Mexico and Uruguay.
