Undersecretary Di Stefano attends the plenary meeting of Task Force China

The Undersecretary for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Manlio Di Stefano, attended the plenary meeting at the Ministry of Economic Development of the Task Force China, which was established with the aim of developing a systemic approach to China within the context of the orientations given by the Situation Room on Internationalization.The meeting highlighted the general interest to concentrate efforts on placing Italian products among those for which China has started to reduce tariffs. In his address, Undersecretary Di Stefano underscored the importance of collaborating with China to single out shared long-term objectives to upgrade the qualitative standards of products and industrial processes, especially in the area of work conditions and environmental protection, to the benefit of Chinese consumers themselves.

Undersecretary Di Stefano said: “We must especially focus our efforts to improve the presence in China of SMEs, also from the South of Italy, thus also fostering the presence of the whole production chain and network. To this end, we must intensify our actions to protect intellectual and industrial property and IGT wines and to remove non-tariff barriers.”
