Condolences for the demise of President Tran Dai Quang

On behalf of himself and of all the people of Italy, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Enzo Moavero Milanesi, in the spirit of friendship that binds the Vietnamese and Italian people, today conveyed a message to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Pham Binh Minh, expressing the Italian Government’s deepest-felt condolences for the demise of the President of the Republic, Tran Dai Quang.  In particular, Minister Moavero recalled that President Tran Dai Quang dedicated his life to Vietnam with passion and dedication and that, in Italy, he left a special testimony of his personal commitment to strengthen bilateral relations during his visit of state in November 2016, which is still vivid in our memory. Lastly, Minister Moavero emphasised how, in this context of friendship, our Country joins the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in today’s mourning.
