The Farnesina hosts the conference “Microfinance for the Development of Peoples”, organised by Banca Popolare Etica in partnership with the Directorate General for Development Cooperation (DGCS) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. The Conference is organised into two thematic sessions respectively dedicated to the role of microfinance and of accessing loans for the development of the least advantaged populations and for the empowerment of excluded vulnerable people, and the best microfinancing practices and experiences in the world’s southern hemisphere.
The Conference, which will open with remarks by the President of the Banca Popolare Etica, Ugo Biggeri, and by the Foreign Ministry’s Director General for Development Cooperation, Ambassador Pietro Sebastiani, also schedules contributions by the Director of the Italian Development Cooperation Agency, Laura Frigenti, the Director of Business Development of Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, Bernardo Bini Smaghi and the Director for Sustainable Growth and Development of the EU Commission, Roberto Ridolfi.
