Athens – Dyptichum exhibition arrives in Italy after a tour of the Mediterranean

The “Dyptichum, Mediterranean glimpses of Italy: images and poems” has arrived in Italy after stopping off in several Mediterranean cities. The exhibition, which opened at the Italian Institute of Culture in Athens in January 2015, is split into two sections “Journey in a timeless Italy” and “Doors and windows of Italy”, with images by Zosi Zogafidou and Pedro Luis Ladrón de Guevara, and verses from poets from around the world inviting people to feel part of the beauty surrounding them. The exhibition has also been on show been in Italy, at Villa Parravicino Sossnovsky, Erba, on Lake Como, during the FAI spring day event and then in Ragusa, at the Cultural Services Centre set up by the Municipality of Ragusa. The catalogues are published by Aracne, Rome.

Zosi Zografidou, who was born in Salonika in 1962, graduated in Italian Language and Literature and Librarianship. She was awarded a Master’s Degree in Italian Literature, with distinction, and a PhD at the Aristotle University of Salonika, where she was a director of the master’s course from 2009 to 2011. She is a lecturer in the department, and a Knight of the Order of the Star of Italy and Honorary President of the Dante Alighieri Society Committee in Salonika. Pedro Luis Ladrón de Guevara is a lecturer in Italian Language and Literature at the University of Murcia and assistant lecturer in Naples, Catania and Bergamo. He has published several books of poetry, narrative and photography and is a Knight of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic and Vice President of the Spanish Italianists Society.
