DEI – Singapore/Kuala Lumpur: Second stage of high-speed rail project under way

The second stage of the high-speed rail project linking Singapore and Kuala Lumpur is under way. The authorities in Malaysia and Singapore have launched an international awareness-raising campaign to attract expressions of interest from the relevant enterprises on the technical and commercial aspects of the project.

The works, which should be completed in 2020, include the construction of 400 kilometres of railway line passing through 8 stations. The journey between the two cities will take just 90 minutes, thanks to the use of tracks enabling the trains to travel at very high speed. The project is expected to cost over 8 billion euro. More economic news, in Italian, from Australia.
