Palestrina, Monteverdi, Vivaldi, Verdi and Puccini are only some of the composers to be discussed and analysed in a course on Italian music history organised by the Italian Cultural Institute of Osaka. The 6-meetings course, from 18 February to 6 March, will traverse the music and lives of the composers and musicians who wrote the history of music in Italy and in the world. The lessons, given in Japanese, will involve listening to important selections in order to identify styles and differentiate their authors, in addition to viewing a selection of films to gain better understanding of the music world of the past.
