Annual Conference of the Heads of Visa Office of the Italian Diplomatic and Consular Network

The Foreign Ministry will host the “Second Conference of the Heads of Visa Offices of the Italian Diplomatic and Consular Network on 22 and 23 January.

The opening remarks will be delivered by the Secretary General, Elisabetta Belloni, and the Director General for Italian Citizens Abroad and Migration Policies, Luigi Vignali,  before an audience of more than 50 senior officials of the Italian diplomatic and consular network abroad.

The conference is organised into five thematic sessions focusing on technological innovation, litigation management, and best practices. The Conference’s agenda features many distinguished speakers, including representatives of different bodies of the Italian and EU Public Administration.

Following the success of the First Annual Conference of the Heads of Visa Offices, the new edition further confirms the event as a fundamental forum where to compare and analyse experiences in the critical field of entry visas. Special attention will be paid to striking a balance between the promotion of the opportunities Italy can offer, and the prevention of irregular entries. The overarching goal is to constantly improve consular procedures in order to continue providing Italian and foreign users with fast, efficient and effective services.
