Thirty-three young diplomats pledged their loyalty to the Republic of Italy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, under the hand of the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Angelino Alfano.
“You start a mission today: the greatest values of our Republic, our Italian identity and our European identity are expressed in the oath you have made,” the Minister told the diplomats from the “Raffaele Guariglia” course.During their training programme, they made a documentary on the life of Raffaele Guariglia, Ambassador and Italian Foreign Minister between 1943 and 1944. The course had been named after him.
