The P.A.F. trio, comprising Paolo Fresu, Antonello Salis and Furio Di Castri, took centre stage yesterday at Talatona, Luanda, in a major concert as part of the Angojazz Festival, treating the audience to a memorable performance showcasing the best of Italian and international jazz.

The trio’s participation was organised by the Embassy of Italy in Angola, in collaboration with the Italian Ministry of Culture, with the aim of introducing the Angolan public to some of the most important and established artists on the European and international jazz scene.

The initiative reaffirms the Italian Embassy’s commitment to promoting music – and jazz in particular – as a means of fostering dialogue and bringing peoples closer together, helping to strengthen cultural ties between Italy and Angola, building on previous initiatives such as the involvement of trombonist Gianluca Petrella and Cosmic Renaissance, and their concert last April in Luanda to mark World Jazz Day.
