Israel: Italian start-ups at the Tel Aviv Innovation Festival

Italy participated in the ‘Digital Life Design’ of the tenth edition of the Tel Aviv Innovation Festival with a very large representation. The event, which aims to exchange innovative ideas for sustainable development with a special focus on the new technologies sector, also thanks to the Italian Embassy and to the ICE-Agency, offered the delegations of 12 Italian start-ups and two incubators operating in different high-tech sectors the opportunity to interact with representatives of Israeli governmental, university and private sector counterparts to discuss possible future cooperative efforts. The Festival included exhibitors from Israeli and international companies and universities, as well as 350 important ICT multinational corporations. The Festival grounds also included a “Start-up Boulevard”, an area wholly dedicated to stands in which start-ups had the opportunity to hand out information and present their projects to international companies and investors. Italy was dedicated a 70-square-metre pavilion, which turned out to be the most crowded in terms of the number of exhibitors. Particular interest was attracted by the round table organised by the ICE-Agency with the support of the Italian Embassy, featuring a panel of representatives of Israeli institutions and the private sector. At the event, the 12 Italian start-ups present at the Festival had the opportunity to present their projects and objectives. The presentation closed with remarks by the Italian Ambassador, Gianluigi Benedetti, who highlighted the common points of interest between the two Countries’ business sectors for promising future scientific and industrial cooperative efforts, following in the wake of what was done within the framework of the Bilateral Agreement for Industrial, Scientific and Technological Cooperation.
