Italy is guest of honour at the second edition of the Sichuan International Aviation & Aerospace Exhibition, the leading aviation industry fair in Southwest China held in Deyang. For five days, in an area covering over 35,000 m2, the event will host over 250 Chinese and foreign companies displaying over one hundred aircraft and pioneering products to a public of both experts and non-experts. The 500m2 Italian stand, set up by the Italian Consulate General in Chongqing and the Italian Aerospace Network, is hosting 16 large, medium and small Italian enterprises.
At the opening ceremony, Davide Castellani, the deputy Consul in Chongqing said “The companies are highly specialised, with added value through their work with large Italian industries, research centres and Universities; along with other Italian enterprises in the industry, they have helped our aviation industry acquire a leadership position in the world ranking fourth in Europe and seventh in the world”.
On the sidelines of the event, the Consulate General of Chongqing also organised the China-Italy Aviation Industry Cooperation Summit to examine potential areas of cooperation between Italian and Chinese companies in the aviation industry, with about 50 Chinese company representatives attending. The Blue Circle and Pioneer Teams, two Italian acrobatic teams, took part in the acrobatic show that took place on the opening day of the Sichuan International Aviation & Aerospace Exhibition.
