Italian astronaut Samantha Cristoforetti will be the opening speaker at the Fourth Symposium of the Italian Academic Forum to be held tomorrow at the Italian Institute of Culture in Cologne.
The symposium, organized by the Consulate General of the German city as part of the celebrations of the International Day of Italian Research in the World, will be introduced by Consul General Pierluigi Giuseppe Ferraro and IIC director Maria Mazza.
Cristoforetti, who spent more than six months in the orbital space station between November 2014 and June 2015 representing the European Space Agency, will deliver a lecture entitled “Human Exploration – The ISS and Beyond”. Her speech will be followed by a multidisciplinary poster session.
