Deputy Minister Marta Dassù met the Turkish Minister for European Affairs, Mevlut Cavusolgu, in Rome today (29 January 2014) during President Gül’s visit.
The meeting was an opportunity to review key bilateral issues, the challenges related to the Eastern Partnership and the state of EU-Turkish relations. In thanking Italy for its constant support for Ankara’s closer relationship with Europe, Minister Cavusolgu hoped that new negotiating chapters will be opened during Italy’s Presidency of the European Union. Deputy Minister Dassù assured him of the Italian Presidency’s commitment on this issue and also underscored the importance of collaboration in the energy sector.
