From 2 February to 2 March 2022 the Italian Cultural Institute in Paris will host “And yes I said yes I will Yes”, an audio/visual installation by Italian photographer Leo Pellegatta and French composer Nicol Faer, to celebrate the centennial of James Joyce’s novel “Ulysses”.
The installation, set up at the Irish Cultural Centre too, calls to mind Joyce’s imagination and explores new paths in the labyrinth of countless interpretations and understandings. In particular, the photographs – printed on fabric with quotes taken from “Ulysses” itself – make you wander in your inner self: an enigmatic journey that also describes some of the places, particularly Trieste, where the Irish author lived for many years and wrote the first chapters of his masterpiece. The musical arrangement, on the other hand, through the sound of water, recalls the seafaring crossing of the mythical hero of the “Odyssey”, his initiatory journey towards the unknown.
