Amb Sofia
Per la prima volta in Bulgaria i gioielli di Diego Percossi Papi

The Italian Embassy in Sofia and the Italian Cultural Institute in Bulgaria, together with the National Gallery-formerly Royal Palace, have organised an exhibition on “Dante’s Precious Path. The Divine Comedy in the jewels of Diego Percossi Papi’. It is an event in which the works of the Roman master goldsmith will be exhibited for the first time in Bulgaria, at the National Gallery from March 24 to April 30, 2022.

The exhibition, which is part of the Italian Design Day 2022, symbolically embraces and epitomises the Italian genius, made up of intuition, original ideas, ancient wisdom, culture and great craftsmanship. The Percossi Papi atelier pays tribute to the Supreme Poet by illustrating Dante Alighieri’s journey through The Divine Comedy with magnificent jewellery and works of art.

Diego Percossi Papi was born in Rome in 1948. He began his career at the age of twenty while attending the Faculty of Architecture. He held solo exhibitions, including those at Palazzo Venezia in Rome, at the Ethnographic Museum in St. Petersburg and at the Neumünster Abbey in Luxembourg.

In the Roman atelier in Via Sant’Eustachio 16, where the Maestro works, jewellery was made for a number of films, including “Murder on the Orient Express” by Kenneth Branagh (2017), “Il mestiere delle armi” by Ermanno Olmi (2001) and “Rossini – Rossini” by Mario Monicelli (1991).
