Preparations for the next bilateral summit and European policy concerns formed the central focus of a meeting at the foreign ministry in Rome between Under-Secretary Marta Dassù and French Minister for European Affairs Bernard Cazeneuve.
Under-Secretary Dassù and Minister Cazeneuve discussed the recent formation of the Joint Italo-French reflection group on the Mediterranean suggested by Minister Terzi, confirming a common intention to implement joint initiatives aimed at expanding the European Union’s radius of action in the region. Italy and France are to participate in a high level meeting between the European Union and the Arab League to be held in Cairo on 13 November.
