Afghanistan and the accord between Pakistan and the United States on reopening supply routes for the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) were the main topics of Minister Terzi’s telephone conversation today with his Pakistani counterpart Hina Rabbani Khar.
Minister Terzi praised the Pakistani government’s high sense of responsibility in reaching this agreement, underscoring how important common efforts toward the stabilisation of Afghanistan were to regional security, and even more so as the transition nears. Minister Terzi assured that Italy was a convinced supporter of the Pakistani commitment to stability and security in Afghanistan confirmed by Minister Rabbani Khar, both in bilateral relations as well as in ISAF.
