Extraordinary meeting at the United Nations, but for one evening it was music instead of policy to take centre stage in the General Assembly. The audience of guests and diplomats from the 193 Member Countries were treated to the energy of Benin-born signer Angelique Kidjo. Grammy Award winner and Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF, Kidjo alternated African-America and Caribbean rhythms with Blues to give a voice to the victims of female genital mutilation around the world.
