Presenting investment opportunities to Italian businesses. That is the goal of the “Ethiopia and Italy Trade and Investment Forum” organised in collaboration with UNIDO, Confindustria and Assafrica. The Forum is taking place at the Foreign Ministry and at Confindustria in Rome on 7 and 8 March, during the visit to Italy by Ethiopia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Hailemariam Desalegn.
Minister Terzi will open the Forum today, 7 March 2012, with his Ethiopian colleague. The proceedings include presentations by Ethiopia’s Under-Secretary for Industry, Tadesse Haile, the Director of the Ethiopian Electric Power Corporation, and representatives of UNIDO, Assafrica, SIMEST and SACE.
The first session will focus on opportunities in Ethiopia – which is experiencing a period of strong economic growth – in the major infrastructure projects sector. The second day’s sessions, which will be held at Confindustria, will examine opportunities in the textiles, agro-industry and leather sectors. It will include B2B meetings for entrepreneurs from the two countries.
