The Italian Cooperation’s numerous initiatives in Pakistan were presented during an event entitled ‘Italian-Pakistani partnership for development’, organized in Islamabad in collaboration with the Economic Affairs Division (EAD) of the Pakistani Finance Ministry tasked with coordinating international cooperation.
Italian initiatives in remote and unstable areas
Participants included high level ministerial and provincial government officials, who had come especially to Islamabad to bear witness to the diffusion of Italian initiatives, among the few to work constructively in remote and unstable areas. Speakers included heads of UN agencies, ambassadors, members of the civil society and cooperation project representatives, who all underscored the value of the Italian programmes distinguished by: their sector and geographical variety; involvement of public and private agencies, Italian institutions and tiny local NGOs; continuing collaboration with the authorities; and effectiveness of aid.
