The Agency for a Digital Italy gives the Farnesina top marks

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is once again at the cutting edge of Italian government initiatives to develop IT infrastructure. The Director of the Agenziaperl’ItaliaDigitale (Agency for a Digital Italy), Agostino Ragosa, has paid a visit to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs data processing centre, where he admired the development of the MFA Cloud project. The project was introduced at the Forum PA 2012 event


A cloud with the Farnesina brand


The MAE Cloud is a cloud-technology application for services to Italian nationals abroad and foreign citizens. It provides online access to shared information services, with the added bonus of more effective and easier access, faster information searches, and energy savings. The services currently available include “’Viaggiare sicuri”, information on education grants and bookings with online consulates, recruitment competitions and information for companies thinking of investing in a given country.


Ragosa underscored the importance of IT infrastructure to attract European funding, which is linked to the development of cloud technology. A technology that the MFA has been one of the first central government organisations to adopt
