BULGARIA  – Seuthes III’s sword restored with Italy’s help

The “Sword of Seuthes III” exhibition has opened to great acclaim in the splendid setting of the National Archaeological Museum in Sofia. The sword, which was in a very poor condition when found, was restored with Italian support: financial, from UniCredit Bulbank, and technical, from the Opificio delle Pietre Dure in Florence. The exhibition was organised by UniCredit Bulbank with the patronage of the Italian Embassy and the collaboration of the Italian Cultural Institute in Sofia.

As Ambassador Marco Conticelli commented, “Initiatives such as this one promote the image of Italy as a ‘provider’ of culture and advanced technology”. Read more, in Italian.
