The 8th edition of the Italian Festival in Thailand opened in Bangkok, aimed at promoting that country’s multifaceted vision of Italy, foregrounding not only more traditional aspects but also innovation and potential.
The calendar of events ranges from music to cinema, art to Made in Italy, beginning with Italian Moviemov that, from 24 to 28 July, will offer the best in recent Italian filmmaking, leaving room also for the emerging Thai film scene.
Music to cinema, art to Made in Italy
Offerings include: a jazz concert by Mario Biondi in Bangkok on 30 July; performances by the Solisti Veneti and the orchestra of the Teatro Regio of Parma; art exhibitions such as the “Jewels of Decoration”, a show of ceramic sculptures done in the 1920s by artist Galileo Chini; and an autumn performance by the Il Posto dance company at the Crystal Design Center.
