Minister for Foreign Affairs Emma Bonino is scheduled to meet at 15:00 on 30 September at the foreign ministry in Rome with President of the International Red Cross Committees (IRCC) Peter Maurer to discuss the status of and prospects for cooperation.
The meeting will be followed by a joint press conference centred on humanitarian efforts in Syria by both the foreign ministry and the Red Cross.
Journalists and camera operators interested in covering the event are asked to apply for specific accreditation using the online accreditation system now available at the “Journalists Area” on the home page of the foreign ministry’s website www.esteri.it. If in exceptional cases it is not possible to complete the online accreditation procedure, applications in writing on company letterhead and signed by the director of the organisation concerned—indicating name, surname, date and place of birth, number of a valid ID document and qualification—should be sent by fax to the Press Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (tel. 063691.3432 fax 06.3691.2122).
Accredited journalists/photographers will be admitted at the Via della Macchia della Farnesina entrance, which will be open from 15:00 onwards.
