Dassù in Warsaw to prepare Italo-Polish summit

Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs Marta Dassù met today in Warsaw with Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski and Under-Secretary Henryka Moscicka-Dendys. Their discussions focused principally on preparations for the Italo-Polish bilateral summit to be held in Warsaw on 5 December, and on the imminent Eastern Partnership summit in Vilnius, which will be decisive for the European prospects of Ukraine, Georgia and Moldova.

Deputy Minister Dassù outlined the priorities that Italy intends to pursue as President of the European Union in the second half of 2014, to which her Polish colleagues responded with a willingness and commitment to work together on EU themes of mutual interest, particularly in the sector of European defence. The visit also offered an opportunity to review already excellent bilateral economic-trade relations and opportunities for their further development.
