The Italian Foreign Ministry has won a new award for “Claudiæ”, its integrated, centralised cloud computing project, which has already won the Cloud Innovation Award for 2013. Today’s award was given at the conference organised by the Politecnico di Milano’s Department for Management Engineering on the subject of “Using the Cloud for Government”.
Rationalising the ministry’s data centre
Claudiæ is designed to rationalise the MFA’s data centre, with the aim of improving services to citizens and business and significantly reducing management costs.
This was the 15th external award won by the MFA for ICT services in the last two years. About 150 projects were assessed by the Politecnico’s judging committee, with only two of them being deemed worthy of mention during today’s conference.
