Brazil – Two events to promote Italian innovation

Brazil has seen two events to spread the news about Italian technological excellence. Working in collaboration with the ICE Trade Agency and the Italian business community in Brazil, our Embassy is organising a trade commission to Porto Alegre on 14 and 15 April 2014. The Embassy will also host a seminar in the capital, Brasilia, on 13 May. The two initiatives are part of the Diplomacy for Growth programme that sees the Farnesina as one of the main drivers in promoting Italian businesses abroad and attracting inward investment.

Investment, innovation and research

The mission to Porto Alegre, in southern Brazil, is an initiative of Ambassador Raffaele Trombetta and is designed to illustrate the Italian Government’s “Destinazione Italia” programme to the region’s business community. Another aim is to introduce the themes of EXPO 2015 and further strengthen the Italian presence in the region, a key destination for Italian investment in Brazil.

The seminar on 13 May will see the participation of Italian and Brazilian enterprises, institutions and research centres. Attendees will discuss industrial technology in the interior design and certification sector and the food quality and security, leisure and commercial shipping, and oil and gas sectors.
