Broadcasting: Conference in Milan on opportunities in emerging markets
A conference on the topic of internationalisation for companies operating in the television sector, with the emphasis on broadcasting technology and services, has been held in Milan. Organised by the ANFOV Observatory, the conference was attended by representatives of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and ICE-Italian Trade Agency.
Topics discussed included the impact of terrestrial digital in Italy (investment, companies concerned). 84 countries are engaged in digitalisation programmes, which have opened up an enormous potential market, including in emerging countries. The conference also analysed the impetus provided by the convergence with new interactive (mobile) and high definition channels. The RAI’s experiments with new convergence-focused broadcasting technologies were also presented at the event.
