Washington: Events to celebrate the 450th anniversary of Galileo

Two winners of the Nobel Prize for Physics, Carlo Rubbia and Adam Riess, will be among those taking part in “Galileo: Exploration of the Universe”, an initiative being held in Washington from 9 October to 12 December 2014 to celebrate the 450th anniversary of the father of modern science. The programme is made possible by the Embassy of Italy in Washington and Georgetown University Italian Research Institute in collaboration with the National Institute of Nuclear Physics and the Italian Space Agency. It has been organised in the framework of the Italian Presidency of the Council of the European Union. Read more, in Italian.
