Emirates: Bee’ah to build thermal treatment plant
The prominent Emirates waste recycling firm Bee’ah announced the upcoming launch of a new thermal treatment plant. A partnership between the government of Sharjah and the royal Al Qasimi family, with shares respectively of 55% and 45%, Bee’ah has a staff of over 3,500 and today ensures the Emirate of Sharjah population of one million the recycling of over 60% of waste (with a 100% target set for the end of 2015). The company has already launched its own research and development centre – the Gulf Ecosystems Research Center – and has shown a strong interest in increased collaboration with the Italian waste management and recycling system, not only through the purchase of equipment and plants but also in terms of forming partnerships with Italian concerns.
