Italian National Day was celebrated in Hanoi with an event organised by the Vietnam-Italy Friendship Association and attended by its president, Nguyen Van Nam. Italy was represented by the “second in command” at the Italian Embassy, Natalia Sangitini, who assured attendees of Italy’s commitment to strengthening relations and cooperation between the two countries. Italy and Vietnam have had diplomatic relations since 1973, and Italy was one of the first western European countries to encourage Vietnamese-European Union cooperation. Read more, in Italian.
