Dei – Canada: BC Hydro chooses Peace River Hydro Partners for dam project

BC Hydro, Canada’s state-run energy monopoly in British Columbia, selected the Peace River Hydro Partners consortium as its preferred proponent for the main contract for the construction of the “Site C” system of hydroelectric dams. The project is valued at an overall 6 billion euro and once installed will have a capacity of 1100 MW. Over the first half of 2016, BC Hydro is planning a series of business to business networking sessions for selecting the recipients of the numerous smaller Site C contracts. Other opportunities for investment in the Canadian Province of British Columbia concern the Standing Offer Program (SOP), which is aimed at fostering the development of small and clean energy projects of up to 15 MW by means of regulatory easements and incentives.
