Uruguay: Enel Green Power opens Melowind windfarm

Enel Green Power inaugurated the Melowind windfarm, a 98-million-USD investment and the firm’s first project in Uruguay. Located in the Cerro Largo departimento, the windfarm was built in slightly over 12 months and is already fully operational. It has a power generating capacity of over 200 GWH a year capable of meeting the needs of 74,000 homes. The energy produced by the farm will be sold by the State-run UTE, which handles the delivery, distribution and sale of electrical power in Uruguay.
