New York – The Big Apple celebrates Dante with Allegorical Portrait by Bronzino

“When I was appointed director of the Italian Cultural Institute of New York, I thought that I should bring something that best represented my country and my city of Florence as well. After seeing Bronzino’s portrait of Dante at the Uffizi Gallery for the 250th anniversary of the poet’s birth, I felt what better way to celebrate the occasion than to exhibit that exceptional piece here in the U.S. for the first time. Bronzino’s Allegorical Portrait of Dante remains on display at the Institute from 15 December through 15 January 2016. Read more, in Italian.
