A virtual tour through the Uffizi Gallery of Florence. The Italian Institute of Culture in Tokyo will host, from Feb. 13 to March 13, an interactive exhibition that will guide visitors through the Florentine Palazzo, unveiling frescoes and masterpieces and presented to the Japanese public through reproductions by Hitachi Ltd. The exhibition is organised by the Italian Institute of Culture and the Italian Embassy in Tokyo and by the University of Florence, with the sponsorship of Japanese newspaper Asahi Shimbun, and in partnership with National Institute of Information and Communications Technology. Some of the reproductions include “The Battle of San Romano” by Paolo Uccello, Sandro Botticelli’s “La Primavera”, Leonardo’s “Adoration of the Magi” and Caravaggio’s “Escutcheon with head of Medusa”. Audio and video screenings will complement the description and it will also be possible to interact with the works through touch screens.
