Luxembourg aims to become a European hub for space resources

The Luxembourg Government has launched a project called ‘SpaceResources.lu to support the development of innovative activities in the space and satellite industries through incentives in the legal domain and in the field of investments. One of the key steps of the project will be the development, in full compliance with international law and in cooperation with other countries, of an effective legal and regulatory framework that will ensure property rights to natural resources extracted in outer space. In terms of incentives, companies that choose Luxembourg for their headquarters will benefit from the advanced local infrastructure and from private financial industry funds.  The government will be able to finance up to 45% of investments for research and development and will directly support projects deemed to be the most productive.
