Moscow – Italian fashion companies maintain presence in Russia

Ninety-two Italian companies are present at the “Collection Premiere Moscow” (CPM), the landmark Russian fashion event held twice a year, with the autumn-winter collections presented in February and spring-summer collections in September. This year’s 26th edition of the Fair sees the presence of 23 countries, seven of which have a national pavilion (Italy, Finland, France, Germany, Spain, South Africa and Turkey). Italian firms, coordinated by the Italian Trade Agency (ICE) and Sistema Moda Italia (SMI), are presenting 95 collections, 69 men’s and women’s brands, 19 children’s brands and four brands of underwear, lingerie and beachwear, in an exhibition area of 7000 sq m.

“The fashion industry is one of sectors most affected by the economic crisis and the devaluation of the Ruble. However, I have noted a positive atmosphere among the Italian exhibitors, who are pleased by the presence of more buyers than expected,” said Italian Ambassador in Moscow, Cesare Ragaglini, who visited the Fair and the Italian pavilion. “I think their determination to keep up their presence on the Russian market will bear fruit in the near future,” he added.
