The count-down has begun for the “Umbria Jazz China” festival which will run from 27 April to 8 May in Beijing, Shanghai, Qingdao and Canton. The event will be presented on Friday, 22 April at 11 a.m. at the Hall of the National Council of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism (MIBACT) on Via del Collegio Romano 27, in Rome. A press conference will illustrate the festival’s programmes, initiatives and novelties. “Umbria Jazz China” is organised by the Umbria Jazz Foundation with the sponsorship of the MIBACT, the Region of Umbria, the Italian Embassy and Consulates in China and the Italian Institutes of Culture involved in the events. Special mention must also be made of the support given by the Shanghai-based Italian Trade Agency, ICE, the Italy-China Foundation, the event’s main sponsor Farchioni (Italy’s third-largest food processing group), in addition to important Chinese institutions, local governments and sponsors.
At the press conference presenting the event promoting tourism in Umbria, which is scheduled for 5 May in Shanghai, contributions will be made by Carlo Pagnotta and Stefano Mazzoni on behalf of the Umbria Jazz Foundation, by the Vice President of the Umbria Region, Fabio Paparelli, and by the Regional Councillor for Culture, Fernanda Cecchini, by musician Danilo Rea, who will be the star performer in China, by Gianni Bastianelli of ENIT, the national tourism agency, by Andrea Canapa of the Italy-China Foundation and by Marco Farchioni in representation of his company.
