First National Day of Women’s Health

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) supports the First National Day of Women’s Health. Today the Ministry’s Health Centre will offer free medical advice and examinations to the Ministry’s female employees not included in the biennial screening programmes provided by the Regional Health Care service for the prevention and treatment of women’s most serious and widespread pathologies.

The National Day of Women’s Health emblematically falls on the date of birth of Nobel Prize Laureate Rita Levi Montalcini. Its establishment was endorsed by Prime Minister Matteo Renzi at the proposal of the Ministry of Health, the Atena Onlus Foundation and the Atena Donna Committee, all of which are active in disseminating information on the discoveries of neurosciences and disease prevention in women, from birth to senescence.
